Pinewood Derby:

  • Our annual Pinewood Derby will be Saturday January 21. The races start at 10:00 at Memorial School. This is our January Pack meeting.
  • If you have other events that day you can still race your car (but attending the Derby is really fun). Show up at 10:00 to check your car in. We'll race your car for you and the results will be recorded and posted. If you show up at the end of the race you can get an update on how your car did and collect awards.
  • I have attached the rules and some pinewood Derby pointers. Please note that the rules have changed this year. You MUST use the pre-cut slots to install your wheel on the car. In previous years you were allowed to cut new slots or drill more accurately placed holes into the body to install the wheels. This is no longer allowed.  If you have already constructed your car we will allow you to race it but if your car wins it must be amended or rebuilt to run in the district finals.
  • We will have come concession available (pizza, drinks, etc)
  • If you don't have an official Pinewood Derby car kit please let me know and I'll set you up. The Pack purchases these for the scouts.
  • This event take a lot of work. The leadership team could use some help. Please let your den lead know if you are available to:
    • show up early to set up the race track
    • run the races
    • run the software to manage the races, get timing results
    • arrange for and sell concessions (pizza, snacks, drinks)
    • judge cars for creativity and craftsmanship
    • breakdown the track and cleanup

Spring Overnight

  • Alice Stecko is organizing our spring overnight. This year it will be at Old Sturbridge Village, our first time at this venue. We'll stay in inside in the museum building and participate in both indoor and outdoor events (including a lantern tour of the village). This should be a really fun overnight.
  • Checkin is at 6:30 PM/ Overnight program begins at 7:00PM on Saturday March 11. Save the date!
  • Cost is $60 per person.
  • Siblings are allowed to attend.
  • Please let your Den Lead know if you are able to attend. We will be collecting money shortly.

T-Shirts

  • We have Natick Pack 310 T-shirts available (kids sizes only)!
  • Eric Laub did an awesome job designing these Tees.
  • Shirts are optional but are nice for pack events in warm weather like the Paw Sox overnight.
  • Cost for the Tees is $10. We'll have them available at the Pinewood Derby.
